Description

Sun. May 12 at 2:00 PM at the Michigan. The Ann Arbor Concert Band concludes its 40th concert season in spectacular fashion presenting “Spring Rhapsody”, featuring Christopher Harding, Professor & Chair of Piano, University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance performing Gershwin’s masterpiece “Rhapsody in Blue” and the 2019 Andrew J. Lum & David R. Juillet Young Artist Scholarship Competition Winner bass clarinetist Phillip Lee, from Ann Arbor Skyline High School, performing the 3rd movement of Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 1. Also on the program 4 works celebrating women composers; Kathryn Salfelder’s “Cathedrals”, “Early Light” by Carolyn Bremer, Valerie Coleman’s “Roma” and “Symphony of Fables”, by Julie Giroux. In addition the 50/50 raffle winning audience member will conduct a Sousa March!

 $10 – adults; $5 - seniors/ students; children under 12 - FREE.
